It was a
green Weekend
for me. In conjunction with Earth Day, I roped in the whole family to do something fun by donning Green. As it is my favourite colour, I do not have any problem at all wearing green, nor do I have trouble finding enough green tops to last me the whole weekend.
My weekend on Saturday, started with the RE-USING of one of the Mosque's room & converting it to a muslimah R&R cum Meeting Room. As it was initially a storage room, we had quite a major task of clearing up the room which was full of boxes & old furniture. After 4 hours of major clean-up, we managed to clear the room & now waiting for other recycled furniture, contributed by our fellow members & me to turn the former storage area into a cosy Muslimah room for our weekly meetings & Flea Market Shop.
Our Mosque's Cafeteria got into the Green movement by serving Green themed food for the weekend, like green Nasi Lemak, green Lime Juice & green Putu Piring.
A reporter came by to interview our mosque Chairman for the green movement & he gathered all staff & volunteers at the mosque for a group photo session & the next we were featured in the Sunday News!
Amirul had his little green movement too, by converting an old unused box into a fellow buddy robot - which he now places next to him when he sleeps at night :)
For dinner, our initial plan was to drop by Taman Warisan to show support to my dear brother-in-law who works there, but we got our timings confused & only found out that the event ended at 7pm only after we arrived after Maghrib. So we had dinner at 'Makan Place' - our first time there - and had a good dinner dinner. Highly recommend the place :) and the place's walls were painted green too, which matched nicely with our outfits. My green weeekend was refreshing & fun. How was yours?
