I am now almost fully recovered from my bouts of stomach flu & high fever. At my worst, which was on Monday night, my temperature soared to 39.7, but thanks to the relentless cold-towel dipping & patting of my husband all through the night, it dipped to a more reasonable 36.8. For that I cannot thank him enough, as always.

The past week was a whirlwind & flurry of activities, our Raya visits went on for 4 days straight, yes, we even went out on the 2nd & 3rd day after Amirul's school. I think that contributed to my deteriorating health-being. That, and the sudden shoving of spicy rendang & sambal, day in & day out for the first few days.

But all is well now and today my favourite son turns 8! As there won't be any big budget birthday celebration, we succumbed to his wishes to give out goody bags to his classmates & friends from school & perhaps a little family celebration with an ice-cream cake with balloons later at home.

My K-drama love is taking a quiet hiatus, I do not know if u can call it hiatus as I am now watching Heaven's Coins with Yutaka. At the same time I am looking forward to East of Eden which is currently being aired concurrently in Korea every week. For once, I feel I'm on par & get to watch a drama that is current as I also have to wait patiently for it to be aired once a week & not get to watch a few episodes back to back like I always do. So far its been quite engaging. Song Seung Heon is looking mighty fine, even the lead playing the younger Lee Dong Chul, King Bum, is not too bad an eye candy. Its a 50 ep drama & will end its run only in February & being my first drama that has more than 24 episodes, I hope my interest in it would not wan anytime soon.

I'm almost done with Heaven's Coins, although its not too bad, I cant help but found it grossly annoying that I don't get to know what Aya is scribbling most of the time when the subtitles do not support whatever she's writing, unless the character reiterates what she is writing & she writes a whole lot ok. But luckily it does not affect my whole understanding of the plot. Even though I watched the drama mainly for Yutaka, I find myself more enthralled by Osawa Takao this time round. Maybe because its the whiny character portrayed by Yutaka which kind of turns me off. Other than that, in between my 2 weeks free time, I've been keeping busy with Gossip Girl(addictive!) & Lipstick Jungle(love it!) & also one of the rare local shows that got me in stitches , The Noose. I think its a hoot. The characters played by Michelle, from geeky reporter to bimbo weathergirl, even Shuhaimi's Jojo Joget really cracked me up every Tuesday night. With them poking fun at serious & very current issues & turn it into a big laugh,I think Mediacorp really scored with this one...

BTW Ley, anymore good recommendations for a good K-drama rom-com? my hubby is asking what else is good to watch, so let me know....:)
