41 yrs ago, a wedding made the news. It earned a spot in the local newspaper. Yes the wedding of that of my parents. I thought 'Waaah my parents must be damn famous to get advertised in the newspaper like that...' but apparently it was not that unusual during that time. Yes, my parents have been married for a happy 41 years - same as that of Singapore's independance. Blessed with 4 wonderful children consisting of my elder sis, my older bro, me and my small mei-mei(not so small now). I think they feel very pleased at how all have turned out. They still look & sound like they are still in love - although they have a funny way of showing it sometimes. But one thing I am sure of is that one will definitely cannot live without the other. That is one thing I really admire about them. Amidst their little tit-for-tat, jokes & wise cracks, there is an underlying affection that one cannot fail to notice.

So we had an anniversary dinner for them down at Siam Kitchen, food was nice and HOT (VERY HOT!) all was chatty and in lighthearted mood - extended family included.

Oooh..wedding bells will soon be heard in our family soon (well, engagement first to start the ball rolling).My dear cousin will finally be engaged in a couple of weeks. We are all so excited for it has been a looong time since we had a wedding celebration in the family. Yes, yes about time we dust our lace & songkets to prepare for the big-day. Its been quite awhile since we get to dress-up for a special occasion - apart from Hari Raya. SO we are so looking forward to the day - nevermind that it will be a 2-yr engagement,because at the end of it THERE WILL BE WEDDING!!
