Last week have been a whirlwind one to say the least. During the first part of the week, I thought I was going to be down with the flu, having been around those who are infected with the dreaded bug, I was more than prepared to be put on bed-rest although at the back of my mind, I will worry about my kids, my class & just the thought of being immobile with bodyaches all-over is enough to make me try & put a stop to it. So I diligently gulp down Cod liver oil, drank my needed cups of liquid & stayed away from cold & fried food. & it worked. I guess HE always knows whats best & plans well. What do you know, come mid-week til today, my husband & kids have been caught with the dreaded fever & flu & I become the nurse-at-hand.
It started midweek, my husband had his asthma attack & the norm would be followed up with the flu, but this time round it was followed by high-fever, so high that our family doctor prepared us a referal letter if his temperature did not cool down in the next 12 hours. With nebulisers, medication & a $69 bill, Alhamdulillah it did. The fever slowly went away with just traces of flu left.
Then on Friday, after school, Amira's body got warmer. We know the drill, so of she goes to the dr & yes, it was confirmed she's down with fever too. So I thought ok, at least Amirul is still up & running, but no, come Saturday night, he too succumbed to the fever bug. So by Sunday, all 3 of them were practically in bed with me watching the clock, making sure that they take the medication, replenished with nourishment & food. I reckon it'll probably take a few more days before everything blows over & I can relinquish my 'nurse' role.
& hey, on a brighter note, there's a family wedding to look forward to in less than 2 weeks, how exciting is THAT ?? :)
