I love, love, love this show. I love the no-nonsense approach that Nanny Jo Frost takes on to 'tame' the ill-disciplined children. I like the way that she don't even 'give face' to the parents whom I cannot fathom how they can tolerate such antiques by their own children. I think the bigger reason why I like the show is how grateful & lucky I feel that my kids are quite well-disciplined. I mean which kid is 100% angel, right? But so far we do not have much trouble with them nor have we heard complaints about them. I have seen kids who can actually 'control' their parents by just screaming their heads off, or some who would roll aroubd in public wailing when their wants are not met. Scary thought. I've been lucky too as Ali and I have the same approach in disciplining the kids. We always make sure that once a decision is made, we will stick by it. And the rules should apply to both kids.So its fair and neither kids would feel that we favour 1 child over the other. Even when Amira was just born, we made sure that our parents or family members should never in anyway make Amirul less special or get less attention than his new baby sister. So in the weeks to come my husband and I will be ardent fans of Nanny Jo Frost.(no calls on thursdays, 10pm ok?) sitting intently and gloat, feeling lucky those kids on telly are not ours to deal with.

Oh, and its Friday already, which means our possies are due home today, yay!

I'm back at work today. Not complaining really coz its not as if I work that hard under the sun and not that I don't enjoy it(kinda miss it actually). As a matter of fact I was glad to go to work so I can wear my cheapo top I bought from JB(but look macam expensivelah kan-so pleased with myself).
Last week, we manage to squeeze more outings with the kids. Brought them to Borders-which is oh-so-super pact with enthusiastic parents, maid-in-tow and excited kids all around. I bet the Borders staff are so glad the school holidays are over - I know I did. Also went to Ramen-tei at Far East where my husband tasted Japanese food for the first time in his entire life.(so sayang I tell U - always give in to my whims).
On Friday, I went to JB with the Makciks&Cousins brigade. Its fun and noisy as usual - ladies lah katakan. Nice food, bought myself the cheapo top & a plastique-lookalike bag for just RM$38. Its been a long time since I took the bus to Malaysia, leceh jugak eh? walk here & there, the queue & line, the heat. I tell you I dont think I make this type of trip a norm - not with Amira especially. Luckily Mira was an angel. No whiny-crying outburst for her. Also good thing Amirul was with his dad at home.

Over the weekend, brought Amirul to Disney on Ice. Amira got left behind coz she was sleeping soundly with the dad when I left with my sis, Anyway, I don't think she can remember what she'll see also. But it was fun, Amirul was happy although I have to constantly refuse to buy him the $14 pop-corn or the $20 ice-ball in a cup. I relented with the $12 cotton candy that comes with a free mickey crown - at least ada souvenirkan. So my husband & I will still try to keep our promise - we still owe Amirul the beach & the zoo.
It will also be quite a lonely week as our possies are in Vancouver than Korea til Friday.
Now I can't wait for end of April where I will get my long-awaited-vacation.:)

Its been 4 days into the week-long school holidays. My husband and I had wild-plans about packing the days with outings & adventure days out by the beach & the park every single day. Since I've got a whole-week free too, we intend to maximize the time. Alas, thanks to the flu-bug such plans have been shelved. We did manage so far to try & fill up those days with less sun-filled outings.(like the trip to SATA for my mum's X-ray, Bugis shopping centre, and to the airport to watch planes take off...)The kids are better now. With about 4 days more to go, we'll see where we'll be headed.(with no-crowd, no-sun, no-need-money places - but in Singapore...where can we possibly go?) I did manage to find a good website for parents with ideas on what to do or where to bring their kids during the holidays. http://www.singaporeforkids.com/

Its been a week. Nothing exciting blog-worthy for me to update earlier. We caught 'Gubra' on Friday midnite. Good show. Simple. Funny. Meaningful.Money-well-spent. On Sunday we finally went to JB to send my baju-kurung that is supposed to be worn in April for my husband cousin's wedding. It was short JB trip. All done within 4 hrs. We went to Larkin, the tailor, then straight to Hyatt for our buffet hi-tea. Nice food. Nice place. Nice environment. We manage to eat in peace as Amira was sleeping throughout our meal.

Amirul & Amira have been having flu intermittently for the past week. Amirul managed to keep it under control by us forcing him to drink lots of plain water & self-medicate with medicine that we still have from last month. Amira, however, caved-in. She vomited last night and her mucus is now green instead of the usual white which signals a sign of infection. So I'm taking the day off today and brought her to the dr. And today for the first time Amira did not yell & cry at the dr's. So proud of her. My baby have grown up.
