Yesterday was dedicated to spending time with a special guy, one of my favourite young man, just the 2 of us, while the daddy & little sister play ‘house’ at home.

As promised, I brought Amirul to a play called “Lily Can’t Sleep” at Act 3 Theatre. It is the first ever live play that he can remember by, as the others that I brought him to previously, he was too young to even recall. It was a fun, lively and interactive 1-hr play about the anxieties of a child adapting to a new environment & changes in her life. Amirul enjoyed it thoroughly, he laughed & sang together with the actresses.

Next stop was lunch for us. I was trying to slowly coax him back to enjoy Japanese food after his somewhat traumatic tastebud experience with wasabe a few weeks back at Carousel. Thank God he was hungry & was quite game to try his all-time favourite California Maki with Crabstick, “Minus the green stuff, ummi..” & I finally get my craving for the Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen satisfied.

Just when we thought we had enough, we discovered that his favourite Shrek 3 is having a sneak preview, so we headed down to Marina to meet up with the other 2 lovelies and made a date with Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss-in-Boots & all the Princesses. Oh, and in case u r wondering why there are no pictures of Amira, she’s in a ‘no-pictures-today-please-ummi’ mood – also probably ‘merajuk’ having left behind playing ‘masak-masak’ with the dad. I say it’s a truly good holiday start for Amirul, a justified reward considering how well he’s done in his exams…and there’s more in store for him…
