In the course of the drama, I've managed to rope in a few friends & aunties -making a BOF convert out of them & then some MinHo fanatics- along the way & they fell in love with the drama almost immediately - who wouldnt right, I mean have you seen Lee Minho? I think by now his posters of the many products endorsements is gracing right about every corner of the streets of Korea. From phone, fashion house, cosmetic, donut & even a car. And he's garnered it all in the span of 3 months. Lucky chap I must say - a well deserved breakthrough for him. Now everyone cant wait for the release of the DVD come April.
I'm halfway through my Digital art lesson & its been getting easier by the week now that the students are familiar with my style & ways as I am of theirs.
The March holidays whizzed by as quickly as I can say 'Kkotboda' - with flurry of activities which ended with the kids having a tan of 5 times shade darker. But of course none is without any hitches. My husband & I are keeping an open mind. We are after all in a relatively new territory especially him. But if all goes well, this weekend should be another swell time :)

But things are not so rosy of course - I heard today that we were not the very favourable ones around our kids' school. Not because we were mean or nasty, but presumably bacause we were a little bit more well-off than the others. I was a little more than surprised, not shell-shocked as when we go about doing our stuff everyday, you cannot help but notice sinister eyes following you as you walk or little whispers that trail behind after I make all my salam-greetings to the other mums. We felt like we were thrown back in our school days. Only this time round, we were not so affected as the reaction all of us had was a grin and a smile. As we know we have done nothing wrong. Envy breeds contempt. But it is sad to know that some who are on friendly terms with us were labelled as 'riding on our coattails' as we sometimes would give rides to those we felt needed our help. They were labelled as opportunitist for apparently taking advantage of the fact that we can afford to drive as they themselves cannot afford to do so. I felt more for those women affected. They were made victims by the same people they see as friends or those that stood on the same circle. It was funnier when I heard that they labelled as like 'the datins' based on our what looked like semi-tai-tai lifestyle.me? Datin? but then not bad eh? at least we must have some kind of 'aura' to have earned such title :p But honestly, I find all these amusing & rather unnecessary. But then, people will talk, and will always find topic to talk about to make their somewhat mundane life more colourful. So it is unfortunate that we were the 'chosen' ones :)
I try as much as possible never ever to bring up personal grouses on my blog, but this time round, I felt it more funny than anything else and therefore justifies the reason being written. You can only do so much to please others & yourself. If it doesnt harm you, your family or livelihood, just let it rest & let it be just water under the bridge. Water that will run for the next 1 odd more years that is....

Over the weekend Amira celebrated her 5th birthday, yes, FIVE. A big girl already she is. Too smart for her own good & too witty for even her daddy's wisdom to retaliate. The plan was a pool party cum BBQ with close friensd & family. But just when the party was about to start, lil 'cats & dogs' paid us a stormy visit. So the party was held indoors. It was nice surrounded by people who mean a lot to you. And for Amira, surrounded by people who love & adore her, who have seen her blossom for a cute tiny tot to the 'sweet-mak-nenek' she is today. The rain stopped for awhile, enough time for some kids to take a dip in the pool, never mind that it was already dark. Food was good, we were very thankful for friends & realativess who have contributed to the sumptous buffet. Feedback were more than newsworthy. They had a good time & the food was yummy. Of course all this would not have happened without help from family & relatives who made a huge effort to make sure that Mira had a memorable day. A big THANK YOU to all who came & made it worth our while. & Amira did have a splashing good time, basking in glorious limelight in her blue Cinderella dress.
