Hey you :) today is our 33 weeks. I have been sending your abah weekly updates according to Babycenter. This is what they are saying about you this week:"This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood."
I bet your abah will be calling you his 'pineapple' this week:)
new achy condition i got this week is 'pelvic girdle pain'-
This is a searing pain in the groin and inner hip area caused by the pelvic plates separating more than they are intended to and it makes it extremely painful to walk, roll over in bed, climb stairs, lift or open your legs, etc.
I am trying hard not to take painkiller to counter the pain, just using the trusted Yoko yoko & Lotion Mustajab nightly to relieve the pain.
Apart from that last week I got the rib pain, conditions which i am encountering the first time:
One cause of rib pain during pregnancy is increased pressure from the uterus. This pain comes from under the ribs as the uterus grows, and is caused by it pressing up and beneath the ribs and the rest of the chest. This upward force can be what causes the pain and you might also notice that you are short on breath.
Other symptoms can include shoulder ache which is caused by pressure on nerves on the diaphragm linked to the shoulders; as well as indigestion or acid reflux as the baby places pressure on your stomach also.
Another cause of rib pain during pregnancy is the increased weight of the breasts. As the breasts become larger, so do they place more weight on your rib cage as well as your spine. This can completely alter your posture by pulling your shoulders and head down which can cause the ache on the rib cage.
Finally you will also find that you undergo a lot of changes to the muscles and the ligaments caused by alterations in your hormones. Combined with changes in your posture this can cause uncomfortable changes in position around your body including the ribs. There are many tiny muscles situated between our ribs in our chest, and as these change shape and position we might feel cramping and other pains. During pregnancy the rib cage is actually expanding to increase your lung capacity as well as to make room for the uterus and this can of course also cause discomfort.
I suppose I will bear thru the pain considering it'll be just another 5-6 weeks before we welcome you.
The orevious week we had another detailed scan at the ADC. You growing well my girl. almost 1.6kg - just nice according to Dr Goh, not too small or big. You even faced up during the scan & boy did you move A LOT. the radiographer had quite a challenging time trying to capture you at the correct angle.
Onto other news, your Baijan just found out the sec sch he has been posted to. He did not get his 1st choice (St Andrews) not even 2nd(CTSS), het got Gan Eng Seng, your Atta & Abg Hakim's alumnus.
He is not so thrilled abt the posting results & he looked regretful as he knows it will fall back due to his PSLE results. So earlier today we went for a sch briefing with him & while we were there, CTSS called (we submitted an appeal the day before you see) to ask him for an interview with the principal at 4pm. I just called your abah & your baijan seemed confident of his chances. Excited to as his BFF Said is posted to that sch.I will update again again abt the outcome of the results..:) meanwhile pls be nice to your ummi & if you do have to dance & prance around there, do it gently ok? luv ya baby :)
